Reinforcing my social media guidance, according to an international survey by Ipsos Marketing:

Owned Media: Consumers visit a brand’s websites to learn more about products and to find promotions.

Earned Media: Consumers visit a brand’s social-media page to connect with other brand aficionados and make their voices heard.
